About Gerald Brierley

Gerald presents Oldham Today and can be heard from 10am to 12noon on Tuesdays, with a repeat in 2 parts at 5 to 6pm, and 9 to 10pm. The programme is a combination of music and chat with people who work, live in, or affect our town in some way, and the guests range from local crown green bowlers, to councillors or personnel promoting health care.

A retired head teacher and born and bred Oldhamer, Gerald is also a supporter of Oldham Roughyeds. A lifetime of playing sport has left a legacy of ‘dicky’ knees, but he still loves cycling, walking, golf and cricket. Currently he earns his crust by presenting poetry days in schools and invigilating exams. Gerald says he is happy to be a granddad.
